Use real butter, and you might consider finding real milk, as in raw milk. We've been drinking raw milk for several years now (never got sick from it), and our dr recommends it too. Do you remember how tiny my baby was when she was born? She weighed 5 lbs 2' at birth, and by the time she was 3 months she was 14 lbs. My babies were always very chubby, but attribute her weight gain to the fact I was drinking fresh milk. I also use a butter concentrate as a supplement for my kids, especially in the Winter months; it's chockfull of good EFAs and vitmins. And BTW, none of my kids have weight issues (as in being overweight because they drink whole milk and consume butter).
Good luck!

I used to "power pack" Ruth's solids to help her gain weight, since she was born 10 weeks prematurely. She spit up a lot, so it was hard for her to gain. I put peanut butter in her rice cereal (I wouldn't normally do this, but Africans just don't seem to have peanut allergies), and lots of bacon grease in homemade refried beans. I had her eat mashed avocado, which she loved but won't touch now. She wasn't a big fan of ground beef, but I tried to push that on her, too. She was a bigger fan of chicken and she also liked to chew on bacon. When she was old enough, I offered a lot of cheese, but she's only recently become a cheese lover. Oh, and french fries! And fried anything, really, especially in olive oil. I can't think of any other ways I packed in extra calories and fat, but it helped, I guess. She's been a very average height and weight for a year now. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

That's soo cute! I love it when babies use sign language. :)

I'm sorry she's not gaining quickly enough, but it sounds like she is doing great otherwise. I'll keep her in my prayers!!
