Let There Be Paint!- House Project Day 4

Well it’s the day after Thanksgiving! We had leftover turkey, stuffing, yams and pie for breakfast and headed over to the house to move forward on our project. Lucky for us, the Robinson’s stopped by to help us move forward even faster! We had the kids start sanding the cabinets in preparation for being painted in the next few days. In the meantime Penny and I washed more walls, patched more holes and cleaned up some of the clutter that was starting to infiltrate everywhere. While we were doing that, Dave, Sione and Xander were busy painting the ceilings upstairs. Dave and Sione were using the paint sprayer and Xander was using a roller to do the bathroom ceiling. They got them all done very quickly but I think they may have had a little too much fun!

When Penny and Sione needed to return home, I ran back to Grammie’s house to pick up the little girls to go see Santa and the Lights at bluffdale park. They were so excited! Ginia has been talking about seeing Santa at his workshop for weeks! We got back to the house, grabbed everyone else and headed over to the park. What a letdown when we realized we had the date wrong! Santa and the Lights is on Saturday! 🙁 OOPS! Luckily the kids were all good sports. We headed back to the house, ate the delicious turkey soup that Grammie Dianne had packed for us and got to work! Everyone wanted to help. At first I kept the girls pretty busy using magic eraser to spruce up the linoleum in the kitchen but I wanted to help paint and soon it was a painting free for all! We finished the girl’s room (except for cutting in because we forgot to buy the brushes), the turret in the master bedroom(ok I lied, Dave stayed late after we left and finished that) the bathroom (Xander did that all by himself except for cutting in) and the hall (the kids did that by themselves with the light of one work lamp. Let’s just say it left a lot to be desired! I got frustrated trying to pull huge nasty screws out of the mater bedroom wall. Once I got them out and puttied them I was done for the night. Dave, Oliver and Xander stayed(Sully was beat from staying late the night before!) and worked until midnight! So proud of my men. 🙂
