2009 Thomas Jefferson Education Forum and Family Ball

I was the official forum photographer this year. I had a great time photographing the speakers but as usual I especially enjoyed photographing the family ball. The family ball has become a special time of year for our family. Our kids look forward to it every year, as do I. This was our 5th family ball. Xander(13) was such a gentleman, dancing with quite a few lovely young women. Sullivan(10) chose to sit out every dance but one(his usual M.O.), Ahrana(7) was very brave and asked boy after boy for a dance. She was turned down a bit but she didn’t let it phase her. Oliver(6) found one young girl and spent the entire evening with her. They danced every dance. Finneas(3) went crazy at first and broke down toward the end, rolling along the floor under the unsuspecting dancers. It was Virginia’s(9 mos) first family ball and all the kids were so excited for her to go. She didn’t like the dancing and music much. It was much too late at night. She spent the evening being passed from person to person so that Mom could take photographs. Here are a few of my kids at the ball. I can’t believe I forgot to take one of them all together!
